Frequently asked questions
How do I sharpen the Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil?
Due to its gel-like, creamy texture, the Velvet Love Eyeliner should be sharpened with a high-quality cosmetic sharpener to maintain a precise tip. For best results, we recommend using the ZOEVA Single Sharpener or the Velvet Love Duo Sharpener, which are designed to sharpen soft eyeliner formulas cleanly and evenly.
Is the Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil waterproof, and how long does it hold?
Yes. The Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil sets waterproof and smudge-proof and holds for up to 8 hours. The gel-like formula glides on in a single pass, then sets in place — once it has set, the line stays where you placed it through a full day of wear.
Which Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil shade suits my eye colour?
Use the Eye Colour filter on this page to see which Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil shades bring out brown, blue, grey, hazel or green eyes. Metallic shades lift the eye with a light-catching shimmer, while Perfect shades set smooth and matte.
How do I build a more intense line with the Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil?
One pass of the Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil gives a soft, defined line. Blur the edge with the 230 Detail Smoky Blender Brush, then layer a second pass for full depth. Metallic shades catch the light, so the shimmer shows at its fullest in daylight.
Can I use the Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil on the waterline?
Yes — the shades labelled Perfect are made for the waterline. They set smooth, hold through the day and stay comfortable against the eye. Metallic shades are made for the lash line, where the shimmer catches the light — we don't recommend them on the waterline.
Is the Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil suitable for sensitive eyes?
Yes. The Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil formula was tested by people with sensitive eyes and was well tolerated, and the results were confirmed by ophthalmologists. It is dermatologically tested as well, so it suits most people who usually find eye makeup uncomfortable.
What is the difference between Metallic and Perfect Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil shades?
Velvet Love Eyeliner Pencil shades labelled Metallic carry a shimmering, light-reflecting finish that lifts the eye. Shades labelled Perfect finish smooth and matte for a clean, defined line. Both share the same creamy, gel-like formula and the same up-to-8-hour wear.
